We get it—the easiest way to find fillers is simply to look up “facial fillers near me,” but here’s a secret: the closest practice may not be the best practice for your needs.

Whether you choose our team at About Face Aesthetics or another practice, here’s how you can gauge the best practices that offer facial fillers and discover which ones are right for you.

1) Check If They Have Options

While every practice may not publicly list their filler brands or formula choices, it’s important to ask your injector if they have multiple options. By having different options, they can cater to your specific needs and ensure that you achieve the best results possible.

Good practitioners will talk with you during your consultation and explain every filler option they have and why it may or may not be a good fit for you. This is also a good litmus test to get an idea of a provider’s experience level.

2) Ask If They Are Board-Certified

Injectables like fillers can cause a litany of aesthetic complications when administered by an inexperienced and uncertified injector. No matter where you get filler, make sure to check that your injector is board certified. If not, it can lead to even bigger health issues later down the line.

3) See Their Before & After Photos

When looking for facial fillers near you in Center City Philadelphia, it’s best to ask an injector to see their before and after photos. A good practitioner will have a lot of comparison photos showcasing their work. But take them with a grain of salt, since some practitioners can alter their photos to make it seem like their treatments deliver more dramatic results than they actually do.

4) Ask About The Timeline of Your Results

Many practitioners will say that you will see results immediately after getting fillers, and while this is true, it’s also a bit more complicated than that. Fillers will deliver an immediate lift to your features, but you can also experience mild swelling so that what you look like Day 1 post-treatment might vary from what you looked like leaving the office. T

he right practitioners will tell you when to expect your results to settle (this can vary from 2 to 4 weeks) and help to keep your expectations realistic and appropriate.

Find Your Filler

Finding the best injector or facial filler near you in Central City doesn’t have to be difficult. At About Face, we put you at the forefront of your care, ensuring you receive high-quality treatments in a safe and comfortable space. At About Face Aesthetics, we use filler to treat a number of issues, including fine lines, wrinkles, loss of facial volume, and more. However, you may not think of the skin around your eyes as a place that filler can offer solutions.

Here, we’ll talk about how aging can affect your eyes and how you can improve your appearance with under eye filler. Philadelphia is a location that offers great benefits such as historical sites, amazing restaurants, AND high-quality med spa treatments will leave you feeling rejuvenated and looking beautiful.

Common Eye Concerns

Common aesthetic eye concerns can include wrinkles, fine lines, dark circles, and deep grooves. The skin around the eyes is the most delicate and reactive on the face, and there are many reasons why the eyes might not look the way you would like. These are the most common causes:

Genetics

Your body naturally produces collagen and elastin—two proteins responsible for repairing and strengthening your skin’s cellular structure. However, your genetics determine how much of these proteins your body makes. Your genetics also predetermines how deep-set your eyes might be, or how prone you may be to allergies, eye hollowing, darkness, puffiness, etc.

Lifestyle Choices

Lifestyle choices like your sleep schedule, diet, exercise regimen, and smoking and drinking habits can all affect your skin, especially manifesting in the skin around your eyes. Poor lifestyle choices can cause and exacerbate dark circles, wrinkles, eye bags, and fine lines around your eyes.

Poor Skincare

Poor at-home skincare can also impact the appearance of the skin around your eyes. If your skincare routine isn’t optimized for your personal skin type, then the products you use can make skin conditions worse and cause premature signs of aging.

Aging

Our skin naturally starts lowering our production of collagen and elastin as we age. Typically, we begin to produce less and less collagen starting in our mid-20’s, and then lose about 1% of collagen production every year beginning around the age of 40.

How Fillers Can Help

Most dermal-fillers are created using hyaluronic acid, which is a substance your body naturally produces. It provides essential support for your skin’s ability to retain moisture, making your skin healthy, smooth, and flexible.

By injecting filler into specific areas of your face, our providers can help restore lost volume while also increasing your body’s natural collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid production. This not only delivers instant results, but gives your body everything it needs to maintain those results for a long time.

The additional collagen and elastin your body makes will repair any damage done to the cellular structure of your skin, and then strengthen that structure to maintain your skin’s smooth, healthy appearance.

We understand that you may be hesitant to have a needle anywhere close to your eyes. But our injectors have undergone extensive training for injections like under eye filler in Philadelphia. They understand exactly what areas of your face to target so they can address your specific needs.

But, dermal-filler injections under the eyes is not a helpful treatment for everyone, even though it’s such a common concern. Your provider will assess you and make the best recommendations, but the decision about whether or not under-eye filler will be helpful for you will be largely dependent on your anatomy.

Wrinkles

Fillers can target wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes, filling in hollow spaces and loose skin to create a more youthful and rested complexion. Once it’s in your skin, the hyaluronic acid then also increases collagen and elastin production to maintain your results and keep your bright appearance. (Neurotoxin injections like Botox can also help with this. Your provider will let you know!)

Dark Circles

Dark circles appear when the skin underneath your eyes becomes thin, making the blood vessels underneath more visible. Filler can increase the volume in the skin under your eyes, creating more space between the surface of your skin and the darker blood vessels. As a result, any dark circles you get are less frequent and less prominent. (Treatments like EZGel can also dramatically improve this concern, your provider will let you know when they see you.)

Deep Grooves

Under-eye hollows and deep grooves can also be improved with under eye filler in Philadelphia. Filler not only adds volume to create a more energetic appearance, but can also improve your skin texture and color by increasing collagen and elastin production. (This is another common under-eye concern that treatments like EZGel can dramatically improve, however your provider will be the best source of recommendations when they see you.)

How to Avoid Under Eye Wrinkles

We can provide under eye filler in Philadelphia to reverse wrinkles and other eye concerns, but how do you prevent undereye wrinkles from forming? You can take some steps in your daily life to slow down the progression of under eye wrinkles.

Maintain Good Skin Care

Having the proper skincare regimen can help your skin retain moisture. Everyone’s skin is different, so make sure you’re using the right products to help you fight off the signs of aging. At About Face, our team can examine your skin and help you determine your skin type to match the best products for your specific concerns.

Avoid Alcohol & Tobacco

Alcohol and tobacco products dehydrate your body, and dehydration causes your skin to show premature signs of aging. Limiting the amount of alcohol and tobacco products you consume will help maintain moisture within your skin.

Exercise Regularly

Exercise helps every aspect of your health—including your skin! Exercising increases circulation and blood flow to the skin. This delivers more oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells, keeping them healthy and ensuring you can enjoy smoother, younger-looking skin for years to come.

Maintain a Healthy Diet

Eating a healthy, balanced diet is also vital for maintaining healthy skin. Our food is our main source of nutrients, and the only way to get the right nutrients is to eat the right foods. To maintain healthy skin, you need to limit overly processed, modified, sugary foods and focus on eating the best balance of vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy that you can.

Get Plenty of Sleep

Did you know that getting less sleep means you’re hurting your skin’s ability to heal and regenerate itself? After about 6 days of sleep deprivation, our skin begins to rapidly lose elasticity, creating wrinkles and sagging skin that age your appearance.

Stay Hydrated

Staying hydrated is key to maintaining healthy, youthful skin. Your body needs water to operate at its best, and a healthy body encourages healthy skin. When your skin has everything it needs, including the proper amount of hydration, it will make the effects of any treatments or products you use that much better.

(A quick hydration-trick: you should drink half your weight, in ounces. So for the sake of easy math, someone who weighs 140-pounds should drink 70-ounces of water a day.)

The Importance of Skincare

Getting under eye filler in Philadelphia will help with your aesthetics concerns for your undereyes, but skincare may be just as important for maintaining your results. Think of skincare like caring for your teeth—you go to the dentist every 6 months for a checkup and a deep cleaning, then you brush and floss every day to maintain your teeth and gum health.

When caring for your skin, the same logic applies. You might visit an aesthetician occasionally for an assessment and treatments, but you need to maintain your skin’s health everyday by using the appropriate skincare.

At About Face Aesthetics, we offer ColoreScience, SkinBetter, Plated by Rion, SkinMedica, Latisse, Upneeq, Alastin and private-label products to help enhance and maintain your skin and aesthetic goals. During your consultation, your provider can talk with you specifically about skincare and help you determine the right products for your skin type and concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand if you have a lot of questions about getting under eye filler in Philadelphia. Here are the most common questions we receive about filler—along with our answers.

What is the difference between filler and Botox?

Fillers and Botox are both injectables that treat wrinkles, but they do so differently. Fillers treat static wrinkles, or wrinkles that are caused by skin laxity. They do this with hyaluronic-acid based gel that you can inject under the skin. This gel replaces volume loss, and lifts sagging skin to create a smoother, younger-looking complexion.

Botox treats dynamic wrinkles, which are wrinkles that are caused by repeated muscle movements creating indents in the skin over time. During Botox treatment, a provider injects a small and refined dose of the neurotoxin Botulinum A into the small muscles in your face that cause dynamic wrinkles.

The neurotoxin temporarily pauses muscle movement to stop and reverse those wrinkles without taking away your ability to make your natural facial expressions.

How long do dermal-fillers last?

The longevity of your filler depends on what type of filler you receive, but many of our patients find that their fillers will last anywhere between 6 and 12 months. Creating an at-home routine with medical-grade skincare products will help make your results last longer.

Are dermal-fillers painful?

No, dermal-fillers are not painful. You may feel a slight pinch when your injector inserts the needle into the treatment site, but otherwise you should be relatively comfortable when you get under eye filler in Philadelphia.

(Most dermal-fillers are premixed with a little bit of lidocaine to add comfortability, and our Philadelphia dermal-filler injectors have a lot of tricks up their sleeves to make the treatment process as easy on you as possible.)

Am I a good candidate for fillers?

Not everyone is a good candidate for under eye filler. Philadelphia has a lot of med spas offering filler, but your About Face provider will discuss your medical history, assess your current anatomy and concerns, review your desired goals, timeline, and budget, and perform all due diligence to make sure that under eye filler is the best option for you. Your provider might recommend other under eye treatment options for treatment if you have certain situations / conditions like:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have a bleeding disorder
  • Have an infection or illness
  • Have certain skin diseases
  • Have open sores or active acne
  • Have a history of cold sores

Do you offer options for fillers?

Yes, there are different brands of fillers, each specifically designed to target a unique concern. You and your provider can discuss your options during your consultation, and they can help you determine which of our offered fillers would work best for you.

It’s time to look refreshed and energized when you look in the mirror. You can try our virtual consultation tool to get personalized recommendations for treatments under eye filler. We are so lucky that we live in a time (and place) where dermal-filler injections are an option.

In roughly an hour, we can safely and effectively tweak our appearance to better meet our desired results; whether that’s overall rejuvenation, contouring, adding volume to lips, etc.

Due to this ability to customize our appearances in a safe and satisfactory way, and immediately boost our self-esteem — filler injections in Philadelphia continue to grow drastically in popularity and demand.

When done correctly, filler-injections in Philadelphia:

  • Provide immediate results and gratification.
  • Plump the skin in a way that is not attainable through any other option. (No skincare product can add the volume that fillers can, and although laser treatments and surgery can drastically tighten skin — dermal-filler injections are the easiest way to add natural-looking volume to the face.)
  • Look completely natural! (Good injections should look like NO injections. The treatment should allow you to look and feel better, but in an ideal world your friends and family should not be able to pinpoint exactly what has changed about you.)

However, even though dermal-filler injections in Philadelphia are more popular than ever, there remains a stigma (for some) regarding the treatments.

It is easy to hear the words Botox or Filler and instantly conjure the scarily-altered faces of some famous celebrities that barely look like themselves (or human, for that matter) anymore. Natural was definitely not the look they were going for, and these plasticky, waxy, obviously over-done faces prevent a lot of people from moving forward with truly exploring the anti-aging and beauty options available to them.

The great news?

Even though the vast majority of people LOVE their filler results, *IF* for whatever reason you HATE the way your results look you have many options to correct / erase the problematic area. (The fact that these injections are not permanent usually helps provide great peace-of-mind for first-timers who are nervous about what to expect.)

Let’s pretend that you just got your lips injected to perfect your pout, and at first glance it appears that your results end up more Kylie circa 2018 than Kylie 2024.

What do you do?

Honey, rest assured. You’ve got options.

1. Have Patience

When you’re in the midst of super-swollen lips, “patience” is the last word of advice you want to hear. But realistically, if it has been less than 48-hours since your injections and things look bigger than expected, asymmetrical, feels bumpy, whatever, try your best to NOT FREAK OUT.

Take a few deep breaths, and remind yourself that swelling does not always occur evenly, and until all swelling dissipates it is impossible for you to evaluate your results.

We can sympathize first-hand: the first few days after injections can be really annoying.

But, we promise: the swelling will be over before you know it, and your results will (likely) make you happy enough to mitigate any brief swelling. (If the swelling is super problematic for you, taking an OTC anti-inflammatory such as Aleve can help, and icing the treatment area may help provide some relief.)

Everyone heals differently, but your body can need up to 2-weeks to fully integrate the injected product. Patience is vital during this process.

However if ample time goes by and you still feel over-inflated or crooked?

2. Filler Massage

The dermal-filler used on you will remain somewhat malleable for about a month after it has been injected. If you think that your filler has migrated to unwanted areas or is not as smooth as you would like, massage is always an option. Your treatment provider should be able to use their fingers to gently coerce the product back to where it should be, and teach you how to do it yourself if any additional spot-massaging is needed in the future.

(Why does product-migration happen? Surprisingly, if your product moves after it has been injected, it is NOT necessarily because the injector did something wrong. The younger the patient is, the stronger the facial muscles are, and sometimes the muscles can pull the filler into areas other than where it was injected. Do not worry though, unruly product usually can be massaged into obedience.)

If massage does not work? ??

3. Dissolving Filler

As long as you were injected with a filler that is hyaluronic-acid based (and most of them are; including Restylane, Restylane Lyft, Restylane Silk, Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, and Juvederm Voluma) you always have the nuclear option: the filler can be dissolved away with Hyaluronidase.

This will allow you to return to baseline like the whole thing never happened.

Hyaluronidase is an injectable enzyme that is sent to wherever the unwanted filler is. This enzyme breaks-down hyaluronic-acid and basically undoes the filler treatment. These injections are usually the last resort because there can be bruising and swelling associated with Hyaluronidase, but knowing that this option exists makes patients feel a lot better. If they HATE their injections, they have recourse.

Additionally, just like the filler-injections themselves are completely customized per patient, your Hyaluronidase injections will also be adjusted per your needs. For example, if you want to just take the size of your lips down a little bit without dissolving everything, you can utilize Hyaluronidase to just make tiny tweaks.

4. Selecting the RIGHT Provider for YOU

It goes without saying that putting your face in the hands of an experienced injector should be the first step you take before committing to any procedure. If you meet with an injector and feel any sense of uncertainty or unease DO NOT get treated by them! These are procedures that are supposed to make your life better and happier, and this a medical procedure that comes with it’s own sets of risks. There are enough treatment providers out there to allow you to be as picky as you want until you find the person who meshes best with you, and your face should not be a practice or test site for a newbie.

Treating with someone you trust (and like) will make everything better for you. You will feel more comfortable from the get-go, and if you should have any complications you will be dealing with someone you like and trust to treat the situation appropriately.

At About Face Aesthetics in Philadelphia, our team of injectors are extremely experienced, educated, nuanced and skilled in achieving the look-amazing-in-a-natural-way aesthetic. They focus on safety and patient outcome, as you can see from our verified patient reviews. To book an appointment with one of our Injector Maestros, please click here.

FYI: Dermal Fillers that can NOT be dissolved

Fillers made with poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra) or calcium-based microspheres (Radiesse) are not permanent but because they are not hyaluronic-acid based they are not as easily reversible as the Restylane and Juvederm families.

Radiesse is a filler-like substance that is injected deep into the skin to volumize deep wrinkles and other areas that have lost significant volume. The calcium-based microspheres in Radiesse are injected using a gel formula, and once injected, there is no counteracting antidote.

The Poly-L-lactic acid in Sculptra is a synthetic gel made with lactic acid, which is naturally found in the body, but, unlike hyaluronic acid, it also does not have an effect-reversing antidote.

Q: Are there different types of fillers?

A: There are many different types of fillers—all formulated for a specific purpose or treatment area. Traditional fillers, for example, are made with HA (hyaluronic acid) and are designed to stay put beneath the surface of your skin, enhancing the fullness and contours of your lips.

Other dermal fillers, like the RHA Collection, are also HA-based, but they’re designed to be flexible and move along with your natural movements. These can be especially effective for elevating your lips and look with subtle enhancements.

Yet another category to add to the list of types of fillers is the biostimulating fillers. Like the previous types mentioned, biostimulating fillers are formulated with hyaluronic acid, but they extend the benefits of lip fillers even further. They stimulate collagen production deep within the treatment area. Over time, this results in naturally firmer, fuller, and more youthful-looking lips.

Q: How much filler will I need to get the results I want?

A: The specific amount of filler needed for your lip filler treatment will always depend on your individual needs, goals, baseline, budget, and types of fillers being used. These are all things we’ll need to assess and discuss with you in person before we can give you a better idea of what to expect.

That being said, we never use more than one syringe of filler at a time. The lips are highly reactive, and we want to make sure that everything looks and feels good with 1cc before adding additional product. Slow and steady always wins the lip race.

Some clients might need to schedule multiple appointments to achieve the results they want, but many are able to get stunning and satisfying results after only one session.

Q: What happens if my filler moves?

A: Even under the best of circumstances, it is possible for filler placed in the lips to migrate over time to undesired areas (usually right outside the lips, creating a duck-like appearance, or even the dreaded “filler mustache”).

The lips are essentially a bunch of tubes, and because the lips are constantly in motion, sometimes product can get displaced. Fortunately, almost all lip fillers are reversible, and it’s a quick process to have the unwanted product dissolved to create a fresh start. Using filler dissolvant to completely erase all the product, or just to finesse and tweak certain areas, is completely normal and happens all the time.

If you feel like your lip filler has moved, or you have a lump or bump that you don’t like, please know that you don’t have to live like that. Any injector worth their salt can quickly and safely correct this for you in a way that is (usually) aesthetically pleasing.

Q: Do you offer other lip-enhancing treatments?

A: We do. In addition to different types of fillers, we also provide Botox lip injections. If you’re looking for noninjectable lip-enhancing treatments, Thermage can tighten the skin on your lips, DiamondGlow can refresh and temporarily plump your lips, and topical plumping lip glosses can even be used to mimic the appearance of certain types of lip fillers.

Not everyone is born with perfect lips, and even the lucky ones born with naturally gorgeous lips may be tempted to further perfect them. Fortunately, lips that look naturally plump, shapely, symmetrical, and hydrated aren’t reserved for the few who had them genetically handed down that way. You don’t have to be a teenager or in your twenties to enjoy the confidence boost of youthful lips.

About Face Aesthetics is committed to refining your pout with lip injections in Philadelphia that can correct asymmetries, restore lost volume, enhance natural beauty with a little extra fullness, and more.

How to Find the Best Lip Injections in Philadelphia

Finding the best lip injections in Philadelphia is about finding the right injectables for transforming your needs and goals into subtle but stunning results. To start, you’ll need to find a skilled, experienced, and fully licensed injector who will customize your treatment according to what you actually want, and what will actually work for you.

At About Face Aesthetics, we specialize in subtle and natural-looking nonsurgical lip augmentation. But at the end of the day, what matters most is that you get the results you want and the first-rate aesthetic care you deserve.

Choosing the Right Lip Injections in Philadelphia

The two main categories of lip injections we offer at About Face are lip fillers and neuromodulators like Botox. Lip fillers are dermal fillers used for reshaping, volumizing, and rejuvenating the lips. Everyone’s lips are different, and so are their goals for treatment. We offer a selection of different types of fillers to best meet the diverse needs of our clients.

Botox, on the other hand, can be injected into the lip muscles to create what’s commonly referred to as a lip flip. A lip flip is a nonsurgical procedure that uses Botox injections to make the upper lip appear larger and fuller after “flipping,” which is caused by relaxing certain muscles and allowing more of the pink part of your lip to show. This creates the appearance of subtly poutier lips.

Botox and filler lip injections in Philadelphia can also enhance the appearance of the lips by reducing and erasing the wrinkles around the lips and mouth area.

(AKA Lip Filler Cheat Sheet)

Lip fillers are an incredibly popular aesthetic treatment. When you think of all of the benefits these injectables can deliver, it’s no wonder they’re always in high demand. The versatility of dermal fillers used to treat the lips makes them an excellent choice for restoring lost volume, rejuvenating your lips, adding definition, correcting asymmetries, and giving your lips that extra plumpness you’ve always wanted.

At About Face Aesthetics, we specialize in using lip filler in Philadelphia to enhance and restore natural beauty, and we use a broad range of dermal fillers to deliver the best possible results for each of our unique clients.

Our Approach to Nonsurgical Lip Augmentation

Our specialty at About Face is providing amazing but subtle lip filler results that are geared toward enhancing your natural beauty. These are the kinds of results that will unmistakably improve your look, even if your friends can’t quite put their finger on the specific changes.

That being said, our goal is always to customize our treatments and approaches to meet the needs, goals, and preferences of our clients—whether that’s natural-looking plumpness or a more dramatic increase in volume.

Popular Options for Lip Filler in Philadelphia

All of the dermal fillers we offer at About Face can be used for the lips in at least some scenarios, but we’ll be focusing on our most popular lip filler options in this article. An expert injector can skillfully use all manner of dermal fillers in the delicate art and science of natural-looking nonsurgical lip augmentation, but here’s a rundown on some of the lip fillers we use the most:

Juvéderm

The JUVÉDERM® collection of dermal fillers is one of the most popular collections on the market—and for good reason. Using a modified form of hyaluronic acid (HA), the Juvéderm collection fillers are specially formulated for long-lasting, natural-looking results and for keeping your skin and lips soft and deeply hydrated.

Volbella XC

Juvéderm’s Volbella XC is a dermal filler designed specifically for the lips. At About Face, we use the Volbella XC lip filler in Philadelphia for nonsurgical lip augmentation, adding a subtle fullness to the lips, and erasing vertical lip lines and wrinkles. This is the thinnest dermal filler option in the Juvederm family, and is perfect for the person who wants subtle, natural looking changes or hydration.

We inject this clear HA gel lip filler with an ultra-fine needle, and its lip-enhancing results can last for up to 1 year.

Vollure

When you need a thicker lip filler in Philadelphia, you might want to talk to your injector about Juvéderm’s Vollure. Why would you need a thicker filler? Thick dermal fillers like Vollure can be especially well-suited for restoring lost volume. Vollure’s consistency allows it to spread evenly under the skin, and depending on where it’s injected, your Vollure results can last up to 18 months.

Ultra

Juvéderm Ultra is often a good choice for clients looking for subtle, natural-looking results or a mild to moderate change to the look of their lips. Some of our clients enjoy their Juvéderm Ultra results for up to a year, but for the majority, this thinner-consistency lip filler tends to last 6 to 9 months.

Restylane

Made by Galderma, the Restylane family of fillers has been used for over 50 million treatments to date, worldwide. It was also the first HA filler to be approved by the FDA. This diverse line of fillers helps us deliver naturally stunning and stunningly natural results for our clients looking for lip filler in Philadelphia.

Restylane Classic

Restylane Classic is a relatively firm filler made from hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin. Its firm consistency helps extend its natural-looking, volumizing benefits. At About Face, we use Restylane Classic to add structure and support to the lips. Most of our clients’ Restylane Classic results last 9 months on average.

Silk

If silky smooth lips are your look (or at least the look of your dreams), Restylane Silk might be just the lip filler for you. Restylane Silk is formulated to plump thinning lips, and, like many lip fillers, it can also be used for reducing wrinkles around the lips and mouth area. For About Face clients looking for younger-looking lips, Restylane Silk could be the solution you’ve been waiting for.

Refyne

Restylane Refyne is made with XpresHAn technology, an innovation that gives results additional flexibility. This helps ensure your natural-looking results move with your natural facial expressions. Talk to your About Face injector if you think it’s about time you gave your lips a little extra refinement.

RHA

Another collection of HA-based fillers, RHA’s offerings are formulated to closely mimic the hyaluronic acid that occurs naturally in the body. These lip fillers fit perfectly in our selection of lip injections at About Face Aesthetics, as they’re fine-tuned to provide results that look natural and adapt to the movement of your lips.

RHA 2

RHA 2 is a flexible hyaluronic acid-based filler that can be used for subtle lip augmentation and filling in the wrinkles and skin folds around the mouth. As an HA lip filler, RHA 2 can also improve the overall smoothness, hydration, and elasticity of the lips over time. Unlike RHA 3 and RHA 4, RHA 2 is thinner and better suited for the delicate precision needed when treating the lips.

RHA Redensity

Often used for treating lipstick lines and dynamic lines around the mouth, RHA Redensity is a gentle volumizer with superior flexibility for adapting to dynamic movements. While some RHA fillers can last up to 15 months for some clients, results with RHA Redensity usually last for up to 12 months.

How much filler will I need?

Just like a prescription treatment, the specific “dosage” (or amount) you need to achieve the lip results you want will depend on your unique needs, goals, and baseline anatomy. It takes professional knowledge and skill to determine the perfect amount and type of filler to make your dream lips a reality. That’s why it’s all the more important that you only receive lip fillers from fully certified, experienced injectors, such as our team of professionals at About Face Aesthetics.

Potential Side Effects of Lip Filler in Philadelphia

Common side effects of lip filler include swelling and bruising at and around the injection site. It’s also normal for your lips to feel sensitive after treatment. These side effects, however, typically resolve on their own. The swelling experienced by our clients who get lip filler in Philadelphia usually settles down after 24 to 48 hours, but some swelling can last for up to a week after treatment.

Other potential side effects can include redness and mild discomfort, but these side effects are not usually cause for concern and should resolve within a few days to a week.

Don’t get lip fillers if you’re allergic to any of the ingredients, and be sure to talk to your injector about any allergies and sensitivities you have before getting your lip filler treatment. Our knowledgeable team will be able to help you choose a safe filler or alternative treatment for you.

Treatments to Get With Lip Fillers

There are a variety of aesthetic treatments you might want to get during your appointment for lip filler in Philadelphia. One popular option is Botox Cosmetic. We frequently use Botox to relax lines and wrinkles around the mouth and thereby enhance the appearance of the lip area.

Botox can also be used to enhance the lips and mouth area by:

  • Correcting a gummy smile by preventing the upper lip from rising higher than you want it to when you smile
  • Treating the DAOs (the muscles at the end of the mouth that can pull edges down, making your resting face look like a frown)
  • Getting a lip flip to make the pink part of your lips more prominent

Many of our clients at About Face Aesthetics find that their appointment for lip filler in Philadelphia is a great opportunity to get Botox injected into their lips, or any other area they would like to improve. It’s an easy add-on for lip Botox because the lips are already numb in preparation for the dermal filler injections. This makes adding a little bit of Botox to the lips completely comfortable and seamless. People like to treat the rest of their face with Botox during lip filler sessions as well because they can get their Botox treatment completed while the topical numbing product on the lips fully kicks-in. (Everyone is happy to make the most efficient use of their time.)

Getting these treatments done at the same time is also beneficial so that if you have any bruising or swelling, everything can heal at the same time instead of having to go through the process multiple times in a short time span.

For most people, when it comes to any kind of aesthetic treatment, the word “natural” is key.

You want to look and feel better afterwards, but results should be indiscernible to other peoples’ eyes. You should look great, but in a way that no one can pinpoint.

While it’s currently places like the forehead, cheeks, and lips that get all the injection-spotlight, there are several other places that high-profile injectors and clients are turning to for the most flattering, NATURAL looking results.

Philadelphia’s About Face Skin Care injectors Nicole Ciasullo, RN, Lauren Adamski, RN, and Beth Hayward, NP, share a few of the best, but unexpected areas, to fill.

1. The Chin

“One of the first things people tend to get filled is their lips. A lot of times, the chin and jaw are the root-cause of why a person is unhappy with their lips and facial symmetry,” says Nicole Ciasullo. “I can inject filler into a concave, weak chin, and it magically makes the lips immediately appear fuller, and helps beautifully with making the face appear more symmetrical and balanced.”

For patients who don’t love their profile, perhaps because of their nose, Ciasullo suggests filling the chin to make the profile more proportionate.

When patients grind their teeth at night (also wearing down tooth-enamel and causing gum / headache issues), this repetitive motion can cause the chin to prematurely flatten. Filling this area with dermal-filler can immediately counteract this effect.

2. The Ears

Injecting dermal-filler into the earlobes helps undo sagging that occurs from age / gravity / longtime love of heavy earrings. To plump the lobes back to life, Lauren Adamski injects one of the finer fillers (such as Volbella or Silk) into the needed areas. These results last for approximately a year, and helps contribute to an overall rejuvenated appearance. (Additionally, this will help all of your earrings look better by keeping them in a perkier position, versus dragging down your lobe.) There is no downtime with this treatment, however you should wait a few days before attempting to wear any of your favorite, over-sized ear-baubles.

3. The Neck

“There are no oil-glands on your neck, and that poor skin is subject to all of the same abuse as your face; sun, environmental damage, pollution, etc. while usually not receiving anywhere near the same amount of TLC as your face. All of these issues combine to accelerate the aging process, and make your neck appear more weathered and aged,” says Nicole Ciasullo.

Neck skin has an inherent tendency toward laxity, and in addition — sleeping on your side can give you crepey-looking skin or neck lines. According to Beth Hayward, dermal-fillers can help rejuvenate the neck area, making the recipient look younger and more radiant. (One sign of natural looking results is that your skin appears congruent; the skin on your face should match the skin on your neck, decolletage, hands, etc. Otherwise, it is a clear sign that something has happened.)

The treatment-cost for neck injections varies depending on how much product is required, and which type is used.

4. The Hands

“Your body stops producing new collagen at age 25. Everywhere. Not just your face!” says Ciasullo. “You tend to lose fat in places like your hands first,  resulting in a hollowed-out, aged appearance that can be plumped with filler.” Nicole uses Radiesse to fill-out and plump the hands, which helps make the veins less noticeable and helps smooth out the skin.

It used to be that patients would come in with pictures of celebrity lips they wanted to emulate…

Now, they come in with pictures of celebrity backsides.

In the span of a few years, Sculptra has accumulated a cult-following of celebrities, models, and mere mortals alike, that all wish to safely augment their buttocks and hips. Sculptra treatments are currently the go-to treatment option for anyone that wants killer curves, a rounder booty, or that hour glass silhouette — without painful and invasive surgery.

Sculptra is a volume enhancing, dermal-filler approved by the FDA since 2004. Its unique ability to stimulate the body’s own collagen production allows for drastic volume results; improved lift, appearance, and plumpness of the treated body-part. Sculptra has been used for body improvement by providers in both the United States and abroad to great effect.

It is a newer phenemonom where Sculptra providers and patients are focusing their attention away from the face, and concentrating on volume enhancement of the body. Although Sculptra can be used to improve the appearance of decolletage, breasts, arms, etc, the current most popular treatment option is the Sculptra Butt Lift.

Sculptra restores the youthful contours of the buttocks and hips by providing a significant increase in the volume and shape of the buttocks and hips, in addition to improving the quality of the skin. (Stretch-marks and cellulite dimpling are minimized with Sculptra treatments.)

By strategically assessing each patient’s body in contrast to their desired results, your treatment provider will carefully place Sculptra injections throughout the treatment area to help create the desird sculpting of the buttocks and hips; correcting hollows, adding curves, and highlighting your natural contours.

Although the results are achieved gradually, the changes improve over time with repeat treatment. The effects of Sculptra will build up over the course of each session, providing a natural and flattering improvement in the desired area(s). Sculptra Butt Lifts allow you to have more buttock / hip projection, volume, and a subtle lift in as little as 2-3 treatment sessions, with no downtime.

About Face Skin Care is proud to offer Sculptra Butt Lifts to the Philadelphia area, and with Nicole Ciasullo (certified national Sculptra trainer) on staff — your booty will be in excellently experienced and competent hands.
